Founded by Trevor King and Jake Shain, Cedar & Stone Homes brings together years of experience managing and constructing luxury homes throughout Washington State.

After more than a decade in high-end residential construction, we saw what homeowners value most: exceptional craftsmanship, honest communication, predictable execution, and a builder who is personally invested in the outcome.

We created Cedar & Stone Homes to be the kind of company we would want to hire ourselves—one where every client is known by name, every project receives direct attention from its founders, and building a home remains a collaborative and enjoyable experience.

Our goal is to approach every project with honesty, transparency, and personal accountability. We communicate openly, manage the details with care, and stay hands-on from the first design meeting until completion.

Trevor King

Trevor's passion for residential construction began long before Cedar & Stone Homes. For more than a decade he has built his career managing the construction of luxury homes across the Greater Seattle area and the Central Cascades.

He spent six years with Toll Brothers in warranty, construction management, and project management before joining MN Custom Homes, where he spent another six years managing high-end luxury homes and was ultimately promoted to a Senior Management Role. Throughout that time, Trevor built relationships with talented tradespeople and honed his skills as a home builder.

His experience spans every phase of the construction process from preconstruction planning and budgeting to scheduling, quality control, and homeowner communication.

For Trevor, building homes is more than a profession, it's something he genuinely enjoys. He appreciates the challenge of solving complex construction problems, refining design details, and watching an idea evolve from a set of plans into a place where families will create memories for generations.

Jake brings more than 11 years of construction experience, including over six years specializing in luxury homes throughout the Greater Seattle area. Before co-founding Cedar & Stone Homes, he spent more than six years with MN Custom Homes, managing the construction of high-end residences across Bellevue, Kirkland, Clyde Hill, and the surrounding Eastside communities. Prior to entering luxury residential construction, Jake managed large-scale heavy civil infrastructure projects, where he developed a disciplined approach to planning, budgeting, scheduling, and quality control.

Today, Jake combines that technical foundation with a passion for building exceptional homes. He believes that a successful project is defined not only by the finished product, but by the experience clients have throughout the process. His approach centers on transparent communication, accurate budgeting, proactive problem-solving, and meticulous attention to detail, ensuring homeowners feel informed and confident from the first meeting through move-in day.

Throughout his career, Jake has worked alongside teams responsible for delivering some of the Pacific Northwest's finest luxury homes, gaining invaluable experience managing complex construction, coordinating talented trade partners, and executing the level of craftsmanship expected in high-end custom homes. By remaining personally involved throughout every phase of construction, he provides the responsiveness, accountability, and personalized service that boutique builders are known for.
